What is Ramsay Hunt Syndrome?
Ramsay Hunt syndrome is a post-complication of varicella-zoster virus infestation that causes Chicken Pox and Shingles. Ramsay Hunt Syndrome happens when the varicella-zoster virus affects the facial nerve and ear.
Post the recovery from Chicken Pox, the varicella-zoster virus can stay dormant in the body and rarely reinfects the person at some point. Ramsay Hunt causes facial paralysis, ear pain and hearing loss.
