TN School Headmistress arrested for making SC students clean the school toilets

The Primary School Headmistress in Erode district, Tamil Nadu was arrested today December 3 2022 following the incident of her alleged involvement in forcing six scheduled caste students to clean the school toilets.

Police Authorities arrested Geetha Rani, working as a Headmistress of Palakkarai Panchayat Union Primary School from Perundurai in Erode.

The horrific incident came to light when some of the student’s parents noticed a blister on their children’s hands and asked about it. One of the students who was admitted to the hospital for dengue had spoken to his mother that few students were being made to regularly clean the school toilets with bleaching powder, reported IANS

Thereafter the boy’s mother complained to the police following which a case was registered against Geetha Rani and launched a search to nab her. Following the spread of the news, The Erode District Education authorities also conducted a departmental inquiry into the issue and found the allegations to be true. The headmistress was suspended on November 30.
