SSC GD Eligibility

1. Education Qualification

Candidate must have passed the 10th Class Examination from a recognized University/Board

2. Age Limit

The Upper Age limit to apply for SSC GD Examination is 18-23 years as of 01-01-2023. However, Age relaxation of up to 5 years is permissible for candidates belonging to the following category

SSC GD consists of 80 Multiple Choice Questions, Carrying 2 marks each in the following composition. The total duration of the Computer Based Test is 60 minutes.

SSC GD Syllabus

General Intelligence and Reasoning: Includes questions on analogies, similarities and differences, spatial visualization, spatial orientation, visual memory, discrimination, observation, relationship concepts, arithmetical reasoning and figural classification, arithmetic number series, non-verbal series, coding and decoding, etc.


General Knowledge and General Awareness: The test will also include questions relating to India and its neighbouring countries especially pertaining to sports, History, Culture, Geography, Economic Scene, General Polity, Indian Constitution, and scientific Research etc.


Elementary Mathematics: Number Systems, Computation of Whole Numbers, Decimals and Fractions and relationship between Numbers, Fundamental arithmetical operations, Percentages, Ratio and Proportion, Averages, Interest, Profit and Loss, Discount, Mensuration, Time and Distance, Ratio and Time, Time and Work, etc.


English/ Hindi: Candidates’ ability to understand basic English/ Hindi and his basic comprehension would be tested.

Physical Standard Test

    • i) Male – 170 cm,
    • ii) Female – 157 cm
  2. Male Chest:
    • Unexpanded chest – 80 cm & Minimum expansion – 5 cm
  3. Weight: Proportionate to height and age as per medical standards
