In a First in India, a Private Launch Pad and Control centre had set up at the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) in Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh.
The IIT Chennai Incubated Space tech startup, Agnikul Cosmos Private Limited has built a launch facility and mission control inside the Satish Dhawan Space Centre of ISRO.
It was stated that the Launch Facility created by Agnikul will handle Liquid-fueled rockets and the mission control centre will be used to monitor the flight parameters of rockets that will be launched.
Agnikul will soon launch its two-stage fully 3D-Printed rocket, Agnibaan. Agnibaan is a small launch vehicle that can carry a payload of up to 100 kg into an orbit range of 700 km.
This facility will be overseen by Isro’s flight safety operations team and the collected data will be shared with ISRO’S Mission Control centre.
The Chennai Based Private Space company, Agnikul Cosmos Private Limited was founded in 2017 by Srinath Ravichandran, Moin S.P.M. and Prof. SR Chakravarthy of IIT Madras.
