India’s First Covid-19 Vaccine, Testing Kits for Animals Launched
Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar today, 9-06-2022 Launched India’s first indigenous COVID-19 vaccine made for animals named Anocovax. The vaccine was developed by Haryana-based ICAR-National Research Center on Equines (NRC)
What is Anocovax?
Anocovax is an inactivated SARS-CoV-2 Delta (COVID-19 vaccine made for animals. The Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) stated that the immunity induced by Anocovax neutralizes both Delta and Omicron variants of SARS-CoV-2
What is the ingredient of Anocovax?
Anocovax contains inactivated SARS-CoV-2 (Delta) antigen along with Alhydrogel as an adjuvant. As of now the vaccine is safe for Dogs, lions, leopards, mice and rabbits
Testing Kits for SARS-CoV-2 in Animals, Launched
CAN-CoV-2-ELISA Kit
Tomar also launched an Indian-made testing kit for SARS-Cov-2 in Animals named CAN-CoV-2-ELISA Kit. It is a sensitive and specific nucleocapsid protein-based indirect ELISA Kit for detecting anybody against SARS-CoV-2 in canines.
Surra ELISA Kit
Besides that Tomar also launched Surra ELISA Kit for detecting Trypanosoma evansi infection in multiple animal species.
