Bangladesh has decided to give India permanent access to its two of its main seaports, Chattogram and Mongla ports for the transit and shipment of cargo vessels.
This decision by the Sheikh Hasina Led Bangladesh government comes ahead of the announcement of an Indo-Pacific policy that will enable wider cooperation between India and Bangladesh.
By having access to two of these Sea Ports in Bangladesh, India can now easily transport cargo to and fro from Chattogram and Mongla ports to Agartala in Tripura, Dawki in Meghalaya, Sutarkandi Assam and Srimantapur in West Bengal.
