How to Prepare for MCAT

The MCAT (Medical College Admission Test) is a standardized test for admission into medical programs in United States Medical colleges. All Medical colleges in the United States admit candidates into their medical programs based on the MCAT Score obtained by the candidate.

MCAT Test Pattern

The MCAT test has sections which include Physical Sciences (chemistry and physics), Biological Sciences (biology and organic chemistry), Verbal Reasoning, and Writing.

MCAT Grading Method

The first 3 sections of the MCAT are multiple-choice questions, and the score is calculated on a 15 points scale based on the correct answers from all 3 sections combined. There is no negative marking for wrong answers. The 4th Section is an Essay writing section which has 2 sample essays, and each of the essays is evaluated separately by two graders on a 6-point scale.
