Prime Minister Narendra Modi has inaugurated a new integrated Airport terminal in Chennai. The 2.36 Lakh sq.m new airport terminal was constructed at the cost of Rs 2346 crore.

PM Modi Flagged off Chennai – Coimbatore Vande Bharat Express on Saturday 8 April 2023 from Chennai Central Railway Station. The train will be operated at a speed of 130 km/hr to reach the destination in about 5.50 hours. It will save the journey time between Chennai to Coimbatore by 1.20 hours compared to other express trains, Southern Railway said.
