Tripura government to carry out Official Works Paperless

Chief Minister of Tripura, Manik Saha announced that the Tripura government will try to carry out all official works paperless.

It is to ensure smart & people-friendly governance

He also inaugurated a state-of-the-art Smart Training Centre & training on Digital Tripura Initiatives at IT Bhavan, Indranagar

PM Modi lauded the Tripura government’s decision to go paperless.

World Thalassemia Day observed on 8th May

Every year on 8th May World Thalassemia Day is observed to spread awareness about Thalassemia.

Thalassemia is a genetic blood disorder where the body can’t produce enough red blood cells. Thalassemia patients will require frequent blood transfusions throughout their lifespan.

World Thalassemia Day was first observed on 8th May 1994, in memory of George Englezos who lost his life due to thalassemia.

Lithium Reserves found in Rajasthan

The government of Rajasthan has reported a finding of a Large Lithiunm reserve in Degana in Rajasthan.

Lithium reserves in Rajasthan are found to be higher than the ones found in Jammu & Kashmir recently.

Lithium is used for making electric vehicle batteries. Currently, India imports lithium from foreign countries such as China. It is reported that with the discovery of lithium reserves, India can soon utilize its own lithium reserves thus reducing the need for import of lithium from foreign nations.
